Traditions may Change, but Love Stays

Traditional Khmer weddings are more than just the ancient stories behind it, but new era now it is more about respect.  Both the bride and groom need to respect each other’s wishes and customs.  It is important to be open about your wants and needs, to find a middle ground between the two with compromise and love.

Love brings two people together from the same or different upbringings. Weddings that combine two different cultures are about having to gain perspective on the traditions they were taught and raised on and finding common ground.  A couple must state what is most important to them as individuals and how to make it work together both through compromise and listening.  It is something a couple will have to constantly work on because everyone’s lives are unique but that is what makes the union of two people so beautiful.

Now-a-days, more and more people are straying slightly away from tradition but still applying what means most to them from it.  Everything in this world changes and grows over time, but the important thing is that the love stays and strengthens.  Marriage is a beautiful ceremony that celebrates the love and connection of two into one strong union.
