Phnom Penh: Rosewood Gallery is proud to present the Particles: Odyssey, the highly anticipated second solo exhibition by visionary Cambodian artist, architect, and actor Rith Bonrotanak. The exhibition opens on August 1st, 2025, at 6 PM and runs for two months on the 35th floor of the Rosewood Hotel. Featuring 49 unique artworks, this exhibition showcases Bonrotanak’s signature style known as Particlization —a technique that transforms everyday objects and traditional Cambodian motifs into intricate, layered digital compositions.
Each piece is printed on fine art paper or canvas and hand-finished with gold leaf, neon paint, and acrylic pouring for a rich, multi-sensory experience. Divided into three distinct series—Enchantment, Grace, and Idols —the exhibition explores themes of nature, cultural heritage, and spiritual identity.
Inspired by Cambodia’s rich artistic history, Rith Bonrotanak invites viewers to slow down, look closer, and rediscover the hidden beauty in both the ordinary and the iconic. This exhibition is a significant milestone in Bonrotanak’s career, following recent recognition at international film festivals and local art competitions. He continues to gain attention for blending traditional Khmer design with modern techniques in digital art.

Rith Bonrotanak creative identity is multidisciplinary, blending technical precision with vibrant color choices and introspective storytelling. Drawing his meditation, through which he meticulously transforms the overlooked into the extraordinary. His signature style, “The Particles,” delves into the essence of objects, dissecting them into intricate components to reveal hidden narratives. This process of “particlization“ is a reflection of shared existence: “how we, too, are formed by countless elements that collectively define and differentiate us.” Bonrotanak addresses.
Inspired by the rich artistic heritage of Cambodia, particularly the intricate Kbach Khmer patterns, he infuses traditional motifs with contemporary approaches in digital and mixed-media arts. His work features highly detailed compositions set against a uniform background, creating a tranquil negative space that mirrors the sacred waters around Angkor Wat that elevates its architectural and artistic majesty. This “moment of silence” allows the viewer to focus entirely on the complexity and craftsmanship of each individual art piece, honoring the belief that beauty resides not only in the intricate details but also in the space that allows it to breathe. By integrating gold leaf for tactility and neon paint to reveal hidden layers.
