Deep shaded warms with cool tans and blacks form around geometric fitted silhouettes in the 2016 BottegaVaneta collection. Thomas Maier’s saturated hues were muted in overcast where the colors were still astonishing but not over whelming.
Every single part of the collection was well thought out and certain sections focused more on different aspects but in total were cohesive. There is attention to detail in a daggered jacket collar and perfectly pleated skirts. You can definitely see an ode to the past and a glimpse in the future merging as one with the elegantly modest tailoring and mix of tight and flow.
The collection works for both the flirty feminine and the masculine professional. There is a lot of effort put into the construction with an after-taste of ease.
