Scared of Scarring?

The miracle of birth is one of the most beautiful things to behold, but it sure does leave a toll on one’s body. A mother’s body is literally an incubator for nine months, growing and supplying nutriance to form a human life! In all of that change, what does your body look like after the birth? Read on to find out how to prevent stretch marks and scarring?

Hydration

Water! water! water! It is really good for you! When pregnant, the body has an increased demand for hydration, which also aids in skin elasticity. Even though you will have to pee all the time, it is so worth it.

Gelatin

Gelatin helps prevent stretch marks because collagen improves skins elasticity. So, in that case it is important to get more collagen in your diet. Ways to do so include: bone broth whether in soups, sauces, rice, etc., or gelatin powder to make fruit gummies or jello.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil or coconut oil lotion is chalked full of saturated fatty acids that are good for your body. Apply coconut oil after taking a bath so it soaks in. You can use coconut oil anywhere… and yes we mean anywhere *wink*.

Vitamins

Take your vitamins! Vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, etc. Your body needs vitamin and most people’s diets are lacking in supplements.

Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter

Shea butter and cocoa butter, a natural fat extracted from the cocoa bean, are exceptional at keeping the skin moist and hydrated. The reason these two creams work so well are because they simulate the skin’s renewal process which helps reduce stretch marks and leaves you with soft, silky skin.

Mederma

Mederma is a counter topical gel. onion extract, one of the main ingredients, helps realign the skin’s collagen and smooth out scars. Not to mention, mederma is safe to use when nursing or pregnant. Be mindful, like most things, it is more affective the sooner you act on it.
